Surrey Senior Companions (“we”, “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This notice explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
Who we are
Surrey Senior Companions is a trading name of Trish Cook, who operates as a sole trader providing companion care and home-organisation support for older people across Haslemere and the surrounding villages. What we collect
When you contact us (through the website form, by email, phone or WhatsApp), we collect only what you choose to share, which typically includes:
- your name;
- your email address and/or phone number;
- the details of your enquiry, which may include information about the person you are seeking support for.
Please share only what is necessary for your enquiry. There is no need to include sensitive medical details at first contact.
How we use your information
We use your information solely to:
- respond to your enquiry and arrange a free introductory visit;
- provide and manage our services if you become a client;
- keep in touch about your care arrangements.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Lawful basis
We rely on your consent when you contact us, and on taking steps to enter into and perform a contract with you if you become a client. Where we keep records for our own legitimate business purposes, we rely on legitimate interests, balanced against your rights.
Who we share it with
We keep your information confidential. We use a trusted third-party form provider (Formspree) to deliver website enquiries to us, our website host (Vercel, which also provides the anonymous visit statistics described below), and standard email to correspond with you. We only share information with others where you ask us to, or where we are required to by law.
Cookies & analytics
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. We use Vercel Web Analytics, a privacy-friendly, cookieless tool that counts page views and referring sites without setting cookies, without storing an IP address and without following you across other websites. Because it cannot identify you, no cookie-consent banner is required.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry information only for as long as needed to respond to you. If you become a client, we keep your records for the duration of our services and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet our legal and business obligations, then delete them securely.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal information, to object to certain processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, email hello@surreyseniorcompanions.co.uk.
If you have a concern we cannot resolve, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
